Giving Back
The purpose of the project isn't to make money. It is to learn and grow. So, we have chosen a charity that any profits we make will be donated to Makomborero. Please join us in supporting this great cause!

Why Makomborero

The purpose of The20Project is to encourage young people to think about their place in the world and the realities of life, and as contributors we have decided to share our experiences, and to give the proceeds of the sale of this book to people less privileged than ourselves.
The charity that we have selected to work with is Makomborero, a UK registered charity that helps to relieve poverty in Zimbabwe, Africa through the education of children. The late Nelson Mandela said that “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. In a country where life expectancy has fallen to the mid-30s and recent economic and political developments mean that 90% of the population is now unemployed, only 34% of children in Zimbabwe are able to complete their schooling. Makomborero means "blessings" in the local Zimbabwean language, Shona, and what greater blessing for Zimbabwe’s children than to give them hope for their futures.
Makomborero works to ensure that disadvantaged and orphaned children are not denied an education. The charity supports talented students by allowing them to complete their education and attain excellent grades in their A-levels. Makomborero gives these children the chance to fulfil their undeniable potential and gives them hope and a future.
By supporting The20Project, you are helping Makomborero to ensure that Zimbabwe’s children are not denied the education they dream of to improve their lives.
